I like Full stack development with a focus on backend and infrastructure with some AI-minded features. I enjoy solving complex problems in clean and simple ways.

I'm Richard Hu, a full-stack software engineer based in Houston. I finished my Master of Computer Science at Rice University after studying Economics and Computer Science at Davidson College.

At SLB, I work on cloud, rig-edge, and remote-operation systems. At Twilio, I built telemetry infrastructure for voice systems. Before that, I worked on internal tools for China Everbright Bank. I enjoy problems where the code has to be clean, the system has to be reliable, and the user still needs a clear path through it.

Design resilient .NET microservices and APIs with messaging, persistence, buffering, and retry logic, while developing Angular components and test coverage for configuration, routing, migration, and unit-system workflows.

Software Engineer Intern, Twilio Voice Media Team

Remote, US

Built a distributed telemetry pipeline in C++ for RTP/SIP packet capture and processing, publishing metrics to ClickHouse and Grafana through OpenTelemetry. Added batching and compression, deployed with AWS EC2, Docker, and Kubelet, and supported load tests for 300+ new concurrent SIP calls per second.

Developed RESTful APIs and CRUD webpages for an HR evaluation system using Java Spring, MyBatis, Oracle SQL, Vue.js, Postman, and Jest. Built reusable UI components across desktop and mobile views and helped reduce manual HR data-management work.
